|A probiotic derived cosmetic ingredient|
|Organisation Region||North America|
|Overview||A probiotic ingredient that has been shown to provide significant multiple anti-aging benefits.|
The proposed new ingredient is produced naturally during the fermentation process of well-documented probiotic strain. To obtain it, the company utilizes proprietary processes to optimize the metabolic activity of the fermenting organism, producing maximum amounts of naturally derived L+ Lactic acid, bacteriocins, enzymes and other metabolites.
The benefits of the ingredient is supported by two double blind, placebo-controlled studies that found dramatic results in reducing signs of aging in female subjects ages 35 to 60. In one study of subjects at 4 weeks, the ingredient technology increased skin hydration by 16 percent, skin elasticity by 11 percent, and decreased fine lines and wrinkles in 50 percent of respondents.
In addition to results measured clinically by Cutometer and silicone replica, subjects’ self reports found that 75 percent reported, “The dark circles under my eyes are less visible” and 75 percent of the treatment group reported, “The skin around my eyes feels more moisturized.”
Opportunities: the ingredient can be used in lotions, creams, gels, powders, scrubs, masks and cleansers.
